Every day brings a new update on the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic. With these updates come adjustments for businesses, schools and individuals. Community assistance is still needed to bolster support for so many who are feeling the daily impact of these changes.
To help, the Community Foundation for the CSRA and United Way of the CSRA partnered to create the CSRA COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund. Since the beginning of April, the fund has supported those most vulnerable to the economic and health-related impacts caused by the pandemic. Through this fund we continue to provide assistance where it is most needed.
Individuals And Families In Need Of Help
United Way of the CSRA provides assistance for individuals and families impacted and in need of support through the 2-1-1 Contact Center, which connects families with community based resources to include the CSRA COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund. There are many ways to connect to 2-1-1 including by phone, chat, email or mobile app. 2-1-1 is a valuable resource that is available 24-hours and 7 days-a-week.
Nonprofit Agencies In Need Of Help
The CSRA COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund will award grants to organizations working in our 13 county service area who are supporting families with young children and teens on free and reduced lunch; individuals without health insurance, access to sick days or access to healthcare; seniors and older adults; the homeless population or those at risk of becoming homeless; and, individuals who have lost income due to COVID-19 to include: low-wage workers including hospitality, service industry, artists, and gig economy workers.
Funding priorities will focus on programs serving the immediate needs of these economically vulnerable populations. Programs should address one or more of the following:
- Food Insecurity
- Emergency Shelter or Rent
- Utility Assistance
- Medical Support
- Child Care
- Learning Gaps Due to Distance Learning
